This is truly a small part of Paradise here in Southeast Florida. We are bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway on the west, Fort Lauderdale’s Galt Ocean Mile on the south and Pompano Beach is to our north.

Presently, our Police Department serves approximately 4,000 permanent residents and that population figure swells to nearly 10,000 during the peak winter months. There are 18 of us full time and 10 part-time officers on the Police Department. We strive to have 3 marked patrol units on each shift, never less than 2. We have the services of a Detective and a Traffic Commander who operates a Harley Davidson and also oversees the operation of our Marine Unit which is a Boston Whaler "Justice" Patrol Boat.

We are thankful and ever-vigilant regarding our low crime rate. Last fall we inaugurated our first Citizens Police Academy. Upon graduation, the Town Commission agreed to financially support 30 such volunteers and a marked vehicle has been provided.
